PURPOSE: To prevent the reaction force supplied from a parking pawl from acting to an operating system for a parking pawl which is engaged with a parking gear and carries out park lock.
CONSTITUTION: In the operation to a park locking position, a manual shaft 3 turns a manual brake 4 in the direction of arrow, and pushes a sleeve 12 to the chain double-dashed line position. A conical surface 6 turns a parking pawl 2 toward a parking gear 1, and allows a top end hook to be engaged with tooth of the parking gear 1, and a parking lock state is generated. Since the conical surface 6 is formed to the sleeve 12 which is freely fitted on a parking rod 5, and is restrained in the diametral direction by a guide 16 installed on a transmission case 8, the reaction force supplied from the parking pawl 2 is received by the transmission case 8 through the guide 16, and the reaction force is prevented from acting on a parking rod 5.
