Provided is a technique for constructing a particle beam therapy system that can improve an operation rate by shortening the construction period during which the therapy is interrupted.A particle beam therapy system (1) comprises a circular accelerator (3) for accelerating charged particles, a beam transportation line for guiding the charged particles accelerated by the circular accelerator (3) to a treatment room (18), a shielding wall (23) that is located around a radiation control area (16) in which the circular accelerator (3) and the beam transportation line (4) are arranged and shields radiation originating from the circular accelerator (3) and the beam transportation line (4), a specific portion (34) that is provided at a position separating the outside of the shielding wall (23) from the radiation control area (16) and is capable of forming an additional opening of the treatment room (19), and a blocking portion (35) for blocking the specific portion (34) and shielding the radiation passing through the specific portion (34).
