To provide a method for producing a particulate composition, by which the particulate composition containing live bacteria sealed in a high content in good storage stability, and applicable to wide uses including foods and medicines, can industrially be produced in high production efficiency.
This particulate composition is characterized by multi-dispersing an oily component (A) and live bacteria, respectively, in a matrix containing a water-soluble vehicle as a main component. In addition, the method for producing the particulate composition is characterized by mixing and emulsifying an oily component (A), a water-soluble vehicle and a live bacterium-containing material in the presence of water to prepare the live bacterium-containing emulsion composition, suspending the live bacterium-containing emulsion composition in an oily component (B), and then removing water in the live bacterium-containing emulsion composition in the oily component (B) to obtain solid particles.
