The passenger conveyer 1 includes: a moving body connected endlessly; side part skirt guards 41 as side walls of the moving body; end part skirt guards 42 connected to the side part skirt guards 41; parapets 2 each having an inner deck cover 7 formed of decorative material; hand rails 3 moving on peripheral edges of the parapets 2; the safety devices 5 arranged on doorways of the handrails; and protection devices 6 of the doorways of the handrails. The protection device 6 is extended from a side surface on a moving body side of the end part skirt guard 42 so as to cover a side part of the safety device 5. Thereby, the protection device 6 of the handrail doorway prevents the baggage or the like of the passenger from colliding with the safety device 5.
