PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor configured in such a manner that a handrail belt part wound around a handrail driving wheel is evenly pressed to a pressure belt, and that any damage to the pressure belt can be prevented.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor includes a handrail driving wheel 25 around which an endless handrail belt 24 circularly moving around a handrail 20 is wound, and which makes the handrail belt 24 move circularly by rotation. The passenger conveyor also includes: a pressure belt 31 that circularly moves on its own by coming into contact with an outer surface of the handrail belt 24; a plurality of pulleys that rotate by coming into contact with an inner surface of the pressure belt 31; and a pressure device 30 that pressures a portion of the handrail belt 24, which is wound around the handrail driving wheel 25 by the pressure belt 31. When a groove on an inner peripheral surface of the pressure belt 31 is brought into close-contact with a protrusion on an outer peripheral surface of the pulley 32 to be wedge-shaped, a space is formed between the apex of the protrusion and the bottom of the groove.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
