Abstract:
To provide a passenger conveyor capable of giving a more specific warning to a passenger not gripping a handrail belt.SOLUTION: This passenger conveyor has: a passage sensor 72 that is provided to the lower lateral part of a handrail 36 located at an entrance so as to detect a passenger; a camera 78 that captures an image of a handrail belt 38 traveling on the handrail 36 located at the entrance; and a control unit 50 that determines whether the image includes a hand in the handrail belt 38 when the passage sensor 72 detects passage of the passenger, and urges the passenger to grip the handrail 38 by hand when the image does not include the hand.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
