PURPOSE: To facilitate treatment of a ball on green, selecting one of batting faces different in angle, by making the face in circumferential direction of a head into a multiple angle faces, and making a part of faces main batting face erected roughly vertically to the ground face, and making residual faces sub batting faces inclined at smaller angles than 90° to the ground face.

CONSTITUTION: A patter 1 is constituted by erecting and fixing a shaft 7 to a head 2, and the left side of the head 2 is made into the main butting face 2a erected at an angle of roughly 90° to the ground face 1. The right face and the front face are made first and second sub batting faces 2b and 2c where the tilt angles θ1 and θ2 are about 60° and about 50°, respectively, to the ground face, and the rear face is made an auxiliary face 2d erected at an angle of about 90° to the ground face, and further at the first and second sub batting faces 2b and 2c, linear grooves 3 and 4 with small width extended horizontally are made at specified pitches in vertical direction. And, the shaft 7 is made in the shape of an ellipse in cross section where the width in right and left direction is wider (long axis) than the width in backward and forward direction.
