Abstract:
PURPOSE: To judge the signal response time between exchanges and to improve the cause investigation capacity of a line connection fault by repeating the detection and display of the line connection signal of a designated channel on a PCM line and the measurement and display of elapsed time between the line connection signals.
CONSTITUTION: In this method, a monitoring circuit 4 monitoring a signal on a PCM line 2, a control circuit 6 detecting a line connection signal based on the output of the monitoring circuit 4 and measuring the elapsed time till the next line connection signal is detected, an input device 5 performing the input of an object channel to be monitored and a display device 7 displaying the line connection signal and the elapsed time are provided. When the control circuit 6 detects the first line connection signal by the monitoring circuit 4, the contents of this first line connection signal is made to be displayed on the display device 7. Next, the elapsed time of a non- illustrated counter is reset to 0 and the elapsed time from 0 is made to be displayed on the display device 7. Next, the second line connection signal is detected by the monitoring circuit 4, the contents of the second line connection signal is made to be displayed on the display device after the display of elapsed time is updated. The detection/display of the line connection signal and measurement/display of elapsed time are made to be repeated.
