Abstract:
To provide ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer pellets that have excellent color resistance and long-running property during melt molding, have suppressed fluctuation in the volatile carboxylic acid content even when the moisture-absorbing EVOH pellets are re-dried, and have excellent long-running property during melt molding.SOLUTION: There is provided pellets containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) as a main component, in which ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) has an ethylene unit content of 15 to 60 mol% and a saponification degree of 85 mol% or more. It contains 50 to 500 ppm of alkali metal ion (B), 10 to 100 ppm of divalent metal ion (C), and 20 to 400 ppm of carboxylic acid (D) having a boiling point of less than 150°C. The pellets have the difference in heat of fusion (ΔHp-ΔHm) between the heat of fusion ΔHp of the pellet measured by scanning calorimetry and the heat of fusion ΔHm measured after melting and re-solidifying the pellet is 5 J/g or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
