Title:
PEPTIDE GLYCAN RECOGNIZING PROTEIN AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10179171
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide the subject new protein composed of a peptide glycan recognizing protein(PGRP) containing a specific amino acid sequence, enabling mass-production of PGRP using the gene and useful for the production of a safe injection by removing bacterial cell wall component.

This new protein contains an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula or an amino acid sequence derived from the above amino acid sequence by the depletion, substitution or addition of one or several amino acids in and has a peptide glycan recognizing activity. A large amount of PGRP is easily producible in high purity by a genetic engineering method using the gene of the protein. The protein is useful e.g. for the production of a safe injection free from pyrogenic substance, etc., by capturing a peptide glycan necessary for keeping the shape of bacterial cell as a cell wall component of bacterium. The PGRP can be produced by cutting the abdominal leg of a silkworm to effect the bleeding to death, collecting hemolymph, adding to saturated ammonium sulfate, separating the produced precipitate, dissolving in a buffer solution and purifying with a peptide glycan column.
