To provide a perfusion guide wire exhibiting handling performance related to existing non-perfusion guide wire so that perfusion liquid may be transported to a vascular vessel location and simultaneously additional training or re-training may become reduced or not required.
This perfusion guide wire comprises a flexible torque transmitting high pressure tubing which defines a penetrating liquid lumen and has a proximal end and a distal end, a core wire which has a proximal end and a distal end and in which the proximal end is placed on a distal end of a tubular housing, an elongated cylindrical sheath which is extended from the tubular housing to a part of the core wire and defines a continuing part of the liquid lumen, and a baffle zone which is extended along at least a part of the core wire, defines at least one liquid outlet, and comprises a means for lowering the fluid velocity so that the liquid perfused in the guide wire is discharged through the liquid outlet in an atraumatic condition.
