To provide a permanent magnet-type rotary electric machine in which a driving range specified by the number of revolutions can be enlarged by changing a field magnetic flux of a rotor without generating variation of a magnetic pole.

The permanent magnet-type rotary electric machine includes: a cylindrical stator 12 to generate a rotating magnetic field in the inside thereof; and a rotor 13 having rotor cores (1311, 1321, 1331) and filed magnets (1312, 1322, 1332), which are installed inside the stator 12 and rotated in a circumferential direction of the stator 12 by the rotating magnetic field. The rotor 13 are divided into a plurality of layers ( 131 to 133) juxtaposed in a rotating shaft direction, and at least one layer out of two layers (131, 133) at both ends of the rotor can be moved in the rotating shaft direction.
