Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition for treating sudden deafness, containing an interferon as an active ingredient and improved in the therapeutic effect.
CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition for treating sudden deafness contains (A) an interferon, such as α-interferon, induced from a natural material or prepared by a recombined DNA technique, alone, or together with (B) a medicine including a steroid such as betamethasone. The interferon is preferably administered at a daily dose of 500,000 to 10,000,000 units for about 2 weeks.
