Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a pharmaceutical preparation composed of a complex of a polymer and an antitumor agent, effective for improving the water-solubility of a scarcely soluble antitumor agent and exhibiting high pharmacological effect unattainable by the antitumor agent.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrophobic compound other than antitumor agent is bonded to a carboxyl group which is a side chain of a polymer carboxylic acid part of a block copolymer having a hydrophilic polymer structure part and a polymer carboxylic acid part to form a hydrophilic polymer structure part. A micelle having a hydrophilic polymer structure part as outer shell is formed by using a polymer block copolymer having the above hydrophilic polymer structure part and a hydrophobic polymer structure part free from bonded antitumor agent. A scarcely water-soluble antitumor agent is included in the hydrophobic inner core to obtain the objective pharmaceutical preparation composed of a complex of a polymer and an antitumor agent.
