Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-performance phosphate-based antimicrobial agent capable of manifesting excellent discoloration resistance to light and heat while maintaining high levels of antimicrobial properties and a method for producing the antimicrobial agent.
CONSTITUTION: This phosphate-based antimicrobial agent is obtained by coating and interposing one or more metallic compounds of Ti, Zr or Zn on the surface of a sparingly soluble phosphate supporting at least silver ions as antimicrobial ions. This method for producing the antimicrobial agent is composed of the first step of adding an aqueous solution containing the silver ions to a sparingly soluble phosphate slurry and supporting at least the silver ions and then the second step of adding an aqueous solution containing one or more soluble metallic salts selected from the Ti, Zr and Zn, carrying out the reaction and subsequently performing neutralizing treatment.
