To provide a phosphor screen forming method of cathode-ray tubes, which realizes quality improvement of blackstripe edge portions and higher resolving power for its phosphor screen pitches, using a simple method.
This phosphor screen forming method of cathode-ray tubes includes a blackstripe forming process and a phosphorstripe-forming process, and the blackstripe forming process includes a first time stripe-forming process which forms blackstripes 2 by exposing photosensitive resist, which has non reciprocal characteristics for the reciprocity law and is used in a liftoff method, with an exposure-light bias and an higher illuminance than that for obtaining a desired opening width W0, and a second time stripe-forming process which forms the blackstripes 2 by means of the same method as in the first time stripe-forming process, by making exposure-light move with a difference between an opening width W1, which is the distance between adjacent blackstripe 2 formed in the first time stripe-forming process, and the desired opening width W0.
