Title:
PHOTOCATALYTIC FILM AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3338329
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the full display of photoactivity without deteriorating a plastic film base material by previously forming a barrier layer which is of a fine texture and shows superb affinity with titanium oxide prior to the formation of a photocatalytic layer made up of titanium oxide on the surface of the plastic film base material.
SOLUTION: This photocatalytic film comprises a barrier layer 2 made up of a vapor deposition layer of oxide ceramics and a photocatalytic layer 3 containing titanium oxide formed on the barrier layer 2, formed on one of the faces of a base material 1 of a plastic film, preferably with a pressure- sensitive adhesive layer 4 and a peel layer 5 further formed on the other face of the base material 1. The base material 1 is preferably a polyethylene terephthalate film. The photocatalytic layer 3 contains titanium oxide as a photoactive component and should preferably contain a binder for immobilizing the titanium oxide. For the microparticle of the titanium oxide, a microparticle of the titanium oxide produced by a sol-gel process is preferably used.
