Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion device using a light absorption layer of a compound thin film capable of minimizing a part not contributive to power generation, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A functional layer 12 of titanium oxide is deposited on a transparent glass substrate 11, and a light absorption layer 13 of CIGS is deposited thereon. A negative electrode 15 and a positive electrode 16 are formed on one side of the light absorption layer 13. The functional layer 12 functions as a passivation film, and terminates a dangling bond of the light absorption layer 13. Since recombination of carriers occurring in the light absorption layer 13 due to incidence of light is suppressed, and the life of carrier is prolonged, the carriers can move to both electrodes even if both electrodes are formed on one side of the light absorption layer 13. Since both electrodes are formed on one side of the light absorption layer 13, the part not contributive to power generation can be minimized, and decrease in the amount of power generation can be prevented.
