To automate the sensitivity adjustment of a photoelectric sensor device.
The photoelectric sensor device is equipped with a light emission part 3 which projects AC-modulated light on a body, a light reception part 5 which receives and converts its reflected light into an electric signal, a filter part 6 which passes an electric signal of the frequency used for the AC modulation, amplification parts 7 to 9 which amplify the electric signal passed through the filter part 6, an A/D conversion part 11 which converts the electric signals from the amplification parts 7 to 9 from analog to digital, and a controller 10 which stores and operates the digital values obtained by the A/D conversion part 11, and detects a body by using the digital values. The filter part 6 is composed of at least one coil L, capacitors C1 to C4, and a switch which selects them. The controller 10 automatically selects the best combination of coils and capacitors by switching the capacitors C1 to C4 by the switch so that variations in inductance among the coils L are absorbed, and performs tuning to the frequency used for the AC modulation.
