To provide a photographic processing apparatus in which processes such as development, bleaching, fixing and cleaning are carried out by introducing a photosensitive material such as photographic paper into tanks and immersing the material in process liquids and process time is shortened by applying ultrasonic waves, and in particular, to appropriately carry out ultrasonic irradiation.
Ultrasonic vibrator arrays 801 to 804 are disposed orthogonal to the conveying direction of a photographic paper sheet, and ultrasonic vibrators 82 are divided into groups G1 to G3 according to the width of the photographic paper roll R and driven by switches S1 to S3, respectively. A control unit 25 changes over the switching state of switches S1 to S3 by referring a control table 251 on the basis of the detection result of the type of the photographic paper roll R by sensors 263, 264, and also changes at least one of oscillation intensity and oscillation frequency of an oscillator 91. For example, when the photographic sheet R2 is a thin type, the intensity of ultrasonic waves is decreased.
