PURPOSE: To accurately read and write magnetic information and to prevent film jamming at the time of inserting film with a magnetic recording part by providing a press-contacting means bringing a magnetic head into press- contact with a film detecting means and the magnetic recording part with a proper strength.

CONSTITUTION: The film A with the magnetic recording part held between the magnetic head 3 and an abutting plate 8 is held with an adequate strength by the repulsive action or the like of the spring 7a of a press-contacting tool 7. When the leading edge of the film A passes a second carrying roller 6 after coming into press-contact with a first carrying roller 1 and passing a negative film brush 2, the magnetic head 3 and a perforation detecting sensor 5, the detecting sensor 5 counts the number of pulses and predicts, and a solenoid 4 (or motor) is actuated, so that the magnetic head 3 is moved. Constant tension is generated on the film A by moving the magnetic head 3, and the magnetic information of the film A is accurately read or written.
