Abstract:

To solve the problem that energy loss occurs or a snapshot is adversely affected when the preliminary light-emitting of a stroboscope is carried out on the same condition (light quantity) as during photographing because the stroboscope might emit light with a large light quantity.

The photographing device makes an illumination means 18 emit light in photographing, wherein the illumination means 18 has light emitting quantity setting means 236, 250, 251 which can selectively set a light emitting quantity. The photographing device is further provided with a photometric means 7 which measures intensity of light of a physical object illuminated by the illumination means, an arithmetic means 100 which calculates a target photographing light quantity in photographing by real light-emitting on the basis of a photometry result by the photometric means in preliminary light emitting with a predetermined light emitting quantity prior to real light-emitting by the illumination means and set various photographing conditions, then calculates a difference between the calculated target photographing light quantity and a set photographing light quantity when photographing with the light emitting quantity set by the light emitting quantity setting means in the illumination means, and display means 24 and 42 which display the difference between a target photographing light quantity calculated by the arithmetic means and a set photographing light quantity.
