To miniaturize the whole of a device and to obtain a photoreceptor roller which is coated with a uniform photoreceptive layer capable of surely forming an image by providing a photoreceptive layer substrate part, at least one rotary shaft center part constituted so as to place an open end in a position far back from the photoreceptive layer substrate part or the same position as it, etc.
The rotary supporting shafts 301 and 303 of the photoreceptor roller are formed. Both rotary supporting shafts 301 and 303 are chucked/rotated by a chucking/rotating means and the photoreceptive layer substrate part 304 for supporting a photoreceptive layer 31 is formed by the abutting of a cutting tool. At this time, the open ends of the rotary supporting shafts 301 and 303 are gradually shaved not to project the shafts 301 and 303 from the photoreceptive layer substrate part 304, so that the open ends are machined to be in the same position as the photoreceptive layer substrate part 304 or in the positions far back therefrom. Then, the photoreceptive layer 31 is foamed in the substrate part, 304, but a difference in level is not made in the outer periphery of the substrate part 304. Thus, the photoreceptive layer 31 having a uniform film thickness, without irregularities in paint level can be formed.
