To provide a roller for a photoreceptor which substantially eliminates an assembly time, has the good accuracy of a rotating center and is capable of preventing the chatter sounds by pressure contact of a cleaning blade, etc., by holding and rotating a bar-shaped blank which is a solid body, shaping the shafts at both ends by a cutting jig, holding and rotating the shafts at both ends and shaping a photosensitive layer supporting part at the blank by the cutting jig.
The points exclusive of both ends of the bar-shaped (a square columnar or circular shape is equally good) aluminum blank (ingot-like) which is the solid body are held and rotated on an NC lathe and cutting tools are pressed to both ends and are manipulated to be intruded into the ingot, by which the rotation supporting shafts 301, 303 of the roller for the photoreceptor are formed. Both rotation supporting shafts 301, 303 are then held and rotate by holding and rotating means. The photosensitive layer supporting part 304 supproting the photosensitive layer 31 is machined and formed by applying the cutting tool thereto. At this time, the photosensitive layer supporting part 304 is so machined that the rotation supporting shafts 301, 303 do not project from the photosensitive layer supporting part 304 and exist in the same position or in the position slightly deeper position.
