PURPOSE: To polish materials stuck to the surface of a photosensitive body to prevent deterioration of the surface of the photosensitive body by forming a cleaning blade brought into contact with the rotating photosensitive body with an elastic body containing a prescribed amount of additive consisting of hard materials.

CONSTITUTION: The cleaning blade is formed with the elastic body, and 100pts. wt. elastic body contains 5W100pts.wt. additive which has 0.1W3.0μm particle size and ≥7 Mohs' hardness. It is preferable that urethane rubber superior in wear resistance, non-staining property, and ozone resistance is used as the elastic body. Handling of particles of the additive is inconvenient and it is difficult to disperse them uniformly in the urethane rubber if the particle size of the additive is <0.1μm, and the wear resistance of the cleaning blade is deteriorated to reduce the polishing effect of materials stuck to the surface of the photosensitive body if the particle size is >3.0μm, and therefore, the particle size of the additive is set to the range of 0.1W3.0μm.
