To provide a new phthalocyanine complex capable of forming a catalyst for olefin polymerization exhibiting high polymerization activity by using the complex as a cocatalyst component.
This phthalocyanine complex comprises a compound represented by general formula [1] (wherein M represents an atom of the group 8-10; T represents an atom of the group 14 or 15; R1 and R2 represent each independently hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group or a halogenated hydrocarbon group; X represents hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group or a hydrocarbonoxy group; m represents a valence of M) and exhibits a strongest diffraction peak to CuKα-characteristic X ray at a position larger than 15° of Bragg angle (2θ±0.2°) in X-ray diffraction spectrum.
