Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the minimum extent of attenuation of a π-shape diode variable attenuator where three PIN diodes are connected as π type.

CONSTITUTION: In the π-shape diode variable attenuator where three PIN diodes D1 to D3 are connected as π-shape, a choke coil L2 and a current limiting resistance R2 connected to the ground are interposed between the ground and the cathode of the PIN diode D1 arranged in series between the input and the output.
