Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve operability by controlling retrieval processing of a reproduced picture based on the evaluation by a picture quality evaluation means so as to reproduce an excellent picture even when the reproduction speed is increased, thereby providing a function of high speed reproduction or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A video/audio signal reproduced from a magnetic tape is inputted to a picture quality setting circuit 101 via a signal processing circuit 100, from which a setting value M of reproduced picture quality is outputted to a system controller 102 and a comparator circuit 105. The controller 102 receives a reproduction speed signal S from an operation section to provide an output of the setting value M to the circuit 100 and the signal S to a control servo circuit 104. The circuit 104 controls a drive system 103 to drive the tape at processing speed. The circuit 105 compares the evaluation N from an evaluation circuit 106 with the setting value M and gives the result to the controller 102 and the circuit 100 thereby switching a switch 107. Control mode circuits 108,109 control a mechanism control servo circuit 104. That is, the retrieval processing is controlled in response to the state of the picture quality of the reproduced signal.
