A rear base member 46 is formed along the front pillar and covered with a surface material 47, and edge parts 51, 51 of the surface material are wound around an end of the rear base member 46 so as to form the interior member 25. The interior member formed of the light metal is plastically deformed to absorb impact. The interior member is used as an impact absorbing member. A solid or hollow impact absorbing member is not required to be mounted. Plastic work of the rear base member is easy.
