Title:
PILOT INJECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3266953
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure a refuge traveling distance and prevent deficiency of main injection by detecting a power voltage, and allowing or inhibiting pilot injection on the basis of the detected result in a device for carrying out pilot injection prior to the main injection of fuel.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel injecting device 1 comprises injectors 3 corresponding to cylinders in an engine, a common rail 5 for accumulating high pressure fuel to be supplied to the injectors 3, a high pressure pump 9 for press-feeding the fuel to the common rail 5 from a fuel tank 7, and an electronic control unit (ECU) 11 for controlling the injectors 3, the common rail 5 and the pump 9. The ECU 11 controls the injectors 3 to perform pilot injection prior to main fuel injection. In this case, a power voltage of a battery +B is detected. Execution of the pilot injection is controlled to be allowed or inhibited according to the detected power voltage. For example, in the case of electric charge deficiency of the battery +B, the pilot injection is inhibited while a required refuge traveling distance is secured.
