PIPE CONNECTING METHOD

PURPOSE: To facilitate connection even in a narrow space by inserting a long support body into a pipe port on a side opposite to a connecting pipe, and lengthening a distance between the long support body and a fixed portion by a pressurizer in the case where a pipe is connected inside a laying hole bored underground by a shield construction method.
CONSTITUTION: A connecting pipe 3 is transported into a laying hole 1. A connection port 21 of a pipe 2 to be connected is faced to a connecting port 31 of the connecting pipe 3 so that the pipes 2, 3 may be approximately coaxial. A long support body 4 is stretched and pressed to a pipe port 34 on a side opposite to the connecting port 31. Meanwhile, a shape steel 5 is stretched in a seam of a segment 11, thus serving as a fixed portion. A hydraulic device 6 is interposed between the fixed portion and the long support body 4. Water is pressure-fed into a shore strut cylinder 61 by a manual pump 63 so as to extensively operate the hydraulic device 6, thus enlarging a clearance between the long support body 4 and the fixed portion 1, and simultaneously, the connecting pipe 3 is retracted so that the connecting port 31 is inserted into the connection port 21. Thereafter, a fixing belt 14 is secured so as to connect the connecting pipe 3 to the pipe 2 to be connected.
