Abstract:
To provide a pipe cutting method which can cut an existing pipe extending from a main pipe at a position as close to a site boundary line as possible.SOLUTION: A branch pipe 9 is temporarily blocked by inserting an elastic seal member 15 from a cutting port 91 of the branch pipe 9 into a prescribed position in the branch pipe 9. A pipe internal face cutting device 1 for cutting an internal peripheral face 92 of the branch pipe 9 is inserted from the cutting port 91. A downstream side of the internal peripheral face 92 relative to the elastic seal member 15 is cut by the pipe internal face cutting device 1. A plug member 16 composed of a thermosetting plastic resin is inserted into the branch pipe 9 from the cutting port 91 and the plug member 16 is fused to a portion of the internal peripheral face 92 that has been cut by the pipe internal face cutting device 1, thus blocking the branch pipe 9. A pipe internal face cutter 17 is inserted into the branch pipe 9 from the cutting port 91, and a second cutting of the branch pipe 9 is performed with the pipe internal face cutter 17 on a downstream side relative to the position at which the plug member 16 has been fused.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
