To provide a pipe joint for stainless steel pipe which mounts a stainless steel pipe on a joint main body correctly at the time of connection to prevent the damage of a rubber packing, prevents simultaneous turn of the pipe when a cap nut is tightened, and makes it possible to confirm the completion of tightening the cap nut accurately from the outside.
It is a pipe joint for stainless steel pipe which has an enlarged open part like flare at an end of a pipe. It consists of a joint main body 10 having a tapered outer peripheral face and a male screw at the end thereof and a cap nut 20 having a tapered inner peripheral face. An inner face of the enlarged open part of the pipe is brought into pressure-contact with the tapered outer peripheral face 12 of the joint main body 10 by tightening the cap nut 20 on the joint main body 10 for connection. A packing mounting part is provided in the middle part of the tapered outer peripheral face where the tapered outer peripheral face of the joint main body 10 is brought into pressure-contact with the inner face of the enlarged open part of the pipe to mount an annular rubber packing 30 consisting of a part having a circular arc cross section and a beltlike part, and an annular projection part which has extremely small width and protects an end face of the rubber packing 30 is provided in a tip part on a small diameter side of the rubber packing mounting part.
