Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a compound having calmodulin-inhibiting action and, at the same time, having brain-protecting action and useful for treatment for circulatory diseases and brain region diseases, e.g. hypertension, heart failure, angina pectoris, cerebral apoplexy, cerebral infarction, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinsonian disease.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I(Q is an aryl, a heterocycle, a diarylmethyl or an aralkyl; R is a bicyclic nitrogen-containing heterocycle or phenyl; Z is a 1-3C alkylene, a 2-4C alkenylene, a 1-3C alkylene having one OH group, carbonyl atomic group, etc.), e.g. 3-[2-[4-(3-chloro-2-methylphenyl)-1- piperazinyl]-ethyl]-5,6-dimethoxy-1-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-1H-indazole. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a carboxylic acid derivative of the formula R-Z-COOH with a piperazine derivative of formula II to afford an amino compound of formula III and reducing the resultant compound of formula III.
