PURPOSE: To provide a new compound useful as anti-depressant and hypotensive drug or for treating CNS diseases such as anxiolytics, which has the ability to act central nervous system by bonding it with 5-HT receptor.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I (A is a 2-4C alkylen chain; Z is O or S; R is H, a lower alkyl, R1 is a mono- or bicyclic aryl or heteroaryl; R2 is a mono- or bicyclic heteroaryl; R3 is H, a lower alkyl, aryl, etc.), e.g. N-(2-(1-(4-(2-methoxyphenyl)piperadinyl)ethyl)-N-(2-pyridinyl) cyclohexanecrboxyamide, is obtained by acylating an amine of formula II with an acid of formula; R3CZOH or its acylated derivative. The compound of formula I is selectively bonded with 5-HT1A type receptor and is useful as an agent for regulating the sleep/wake cycle, feeding behavior and/or sexual function.
