Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring assembly capable of improving its airtightness while improving its productivity.SOLUTION: Outer peripheral side protrusions 22, 32 are concentrically protruded from outer peripheral portions of one-ends 21a, 31a of piston rings 2, 3; inner peripheral side protrusions 23, 33 are concentrically protruded from inner peripheral portions of the other-ends 21b, 31b; and inner peripheries 22a, 32a of the outer peripheral side protrusions 22, 32 and outer peripheries 23a, 33a of the inner peripheral side protrusions 23, 33 are slide contacted to each other. With this arrangement as above, since gas leakage at abutments 21, 31 in their radial direction can be restricted, it is not necessary to increase airtightness between an outer periphery of a guide ring 4 and inner peripheries of the piston rings 2, 3 by covering the abutments 21, 31 by the guide ring 4 and it becomes possible to reduce accuracy of finishing of the guide ring 4 and the piston rings 2, 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
