To provide a piston ring capable of suppressing a risk related to a blowby gas due to corrosion of a ring groove of a piston.SOLUTION: The piston ring has resin-based coating film on an upper surface and a lower surface of the piston ring. The resin-based coating film includes a heat-resistant resin and a solid lubricant, and an amount of the solid lubricant included in the resin-based coating film on the piston-ring upper surface is different from an amount of the solid lubricant included in the resin-based coating film on the piston-ring lower surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
