Abstract:
To provide a piston ring for a vehicular shock absorber that less likely causes the leakage of oil between an outer peripheral surface of a piston and an inner peripheral surface of the piston ring, and can suppress the lowering of attenuation force.SOLUTION: A piston ring 1 is disposed so that second axial direction end surfaces of respective ring portions 2a and 2b face each other, and circumferential direction gaps of the respective ring portions 2a and 2b are separated from each other at 180° in a circumferential direction. Thereby, when axial direction force F is applied, the circumferential direction length of circumferential direction gaps of the respective ring portions 2a and 2b are narrowed and inner diameters of the respective ring portions 2a and 2b are contracted, so that the energizing force of inner peripheral surfaces 61 of the respective ring portions 2a and 2b to an outer peripheral surface of a piston 12 is increased. Therefore, the leakage of oil less likely occurs between the inner peripheral surface 61 of the piston ring 1 and the outer peripheral surface of the piston, and the lowering of attenuation force can be suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
