Abstract:
The present invention provides a manufacturing method for a piston ring, which comprises the following steps of: placing a piston ring inside a physical deposition apparatus; introducing inert gas thereinto; feeding reactive gas containing nitrogen gas (N_2) or nitrogen atoms (N); and forming a nanocomposite coating film containing nitrogen on a surface of the piston ring through physical deposition of a Zr-Cu-Si based alloy target, wherein the composition of the alloy target is composed of 82-90 atom% of Zr, 4-14 atom% of Cu, and 4-8 atom% of Si.
