Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the plane light source device which is reduced in thickness by efficiently making the light emitted from a light source on a light transmission plate.
CONSTITUTION: This device has the flat plate-like transparent light transmission plate 1 for transmitting light, the light source 4 provided in proximity to at least one side of the four sides of the light transmission plate 1 and a reflection mirror 5 covering tj6 light source 4. Further, the light source 4 is formed to an elliptical shape in sectional shape and is disposed in such a manner that its major axis aligns to the progressing direction of light. In addition, the reflection mirror 5 is so formed as to constitute a part of the circle.
