To easily and efficiently make a fluid stream line flow without disordering mass of a granular substance in a container or the arrangement of the mass in the boundary region of the mass of the granular substance by setting a deflecting surface as to form an angle to the main direction and form an angle wider than the angle of repose of the granular substance to the horizontal plane.
Mass 2 of a granular substance is put in a container 1. Deflecting surfaces 4 are so arranged at regular intervals as to bring a fluid into contact with a large number of granules of the substance along the wall of the peripheral shell 3 of the container 1 and these deflecting surfaces 4 form an angle a wider than the angle of repose of the granular substance to be poured on a reception supporting body to the horizontal face and consequently, formation of a space having optional inclination in the granular substance under the deflecting surfaces 4 is avoided. With such arrangement, a fluid is forced to flow along the vertical end of the mass 2 and as a result, the granular material can be evenly packed in the container 1 by the deflecting surfaces 4.
