Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic building material which has low coefficient of linear expansion, excellent impact resistance and high mechanical strength.
SOLUTION: The plastic building material is characterized in that a needle- like inorganic material or a plate-like inorganic material is contained at a ratio of 20 to 60 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight of a vinyl chloride- based resin having an average polymerization degree of 600 to 1,500. The vinyl chloride resin can be obtained by graft-polymerizing 70 to 96% by weight of a vinyl monomer mainly comprising vinyl chloride, to 4 to 30% by weight of an elastomer component which is an acrylic copolymer containing 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a multifunctional monomer and 100 parts by weight of a radical polymerizable monomer mainly comprising at least one (meth)acrylate of which homopolymer has a glass-transition temperature of from -140°C to less than 0°C.
