Abstract:

PURPOSE: To supply stationarily water necessary for displaying satisfactorily deodorizing effect of a plastic foam and to prevent elution of a deodorizing agent from the plastic foam by sticking a Fe(II) compd. type deodorizing agent to the plastic foam integrally using nonionic emulsion.

CONSTITUTION: A plastic foam having deodorizing effect is formed by sticking a Fe(II) type deodorizing agent to a plastic foam using nonionic emulsion. Suitable Fe(II) type deodorizing agent is one capable of reacting with malodor ingredients and fixing the ingredients, such as sulfates, nitrates, chlorides, bromides, etc. It is preferred to use a filler having adsorptivity such as active carbon, silica gel, alumina, etc., in combination with said Fe(II) type compd. Preferred plastic foam is urethane foam having 0.008W0.1 apparent density, and preferred nonionic emulsion is urethane emulsion.
