To give high scratching fesistance to the outer surface of a plastic lens and to form a functional film having antifogging property and the like on the inner surface.
The both surfaces of a plastic lens base body are coated with an acryl-based hard coating material, then the outer surface is masked with a masking agent which can be peeled (such as a coating nlaterial containing polyvinyl chloride or vinyl chloride-vinylacetate copolymer) and at least the inner surface is treated with an antifogging agent. Then the masking layer is removed to obtain a plastic lens consisting of the plastic lens base body having the acryl-based hard coating layer on its outer surface and the hard coating layer and an antifogging coating film on its inner surface. As for the hard coating agent and the antifogging agent, UV-curing resin compsns. can be used. As for the masking agent, a coating material containing polyvinyl chloride or vinyl chloride-vinylacetate copolymer can be used.
