Concerning an umbrella rib where outer ribs which provide umbrella cloth in a tensioned state are formed by a plastic, the umbrella rib 15 is formed by a recyclable plastic. While the umbrella rib is connected to an upper runner 12 which is prepared on the axis 11 of an umbrella on its inside end, an outward end is connected to a connection part 20 of the middle of such outer ribs. The inside end has a configuration which is supported by a stretcher 21 which is connected to a lower runner 13. The connection part 20 of the middle of the outer ribs which connects the stretcher forms the transverse section in a large size for the transverse section of the outer ribs which is situated lateral to such connection part.
