PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the delay of a plate making time by stopping a feed means and a thermal head when a writing stop position arrives at the thermal head to once stop the plate making and feed of thermal screen stencil paper.
SOLUTION: When a serial transfer mode is judged to be set (St. 3), it is judged whether the writing of the image data of the manuscript of the first surface is completed. When the writing is judged to be completed (St. 4), the feed of a master is stopped and, at the same time, the operation reading the manuscript of the first surface is completed and a plate making process is once stopped (St. 5). Thereafter, it is judged whether a plate making start key is newly pushed and, when the start key is judged to be pushed (St. 6), a plate making part motor is driven and the plate making process is resumed (St. 7). Then, it is judged whether plate making is performed up to the writing completing position corresponding to one plate. When plating is judged to be performed (St. 8), the feed of the master is stopped and, at the same time, the operation reading the manuscript of the second surface is completed and the plate making process is completed (St. 9).
