Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a high chloride [1001 platelike particle emulsion offering a more excellent speed-graininess relation in addition to an advantage of the platelike particle emulsion produced by a prior-art.
CONSTITUTION: In a radiation sensitive emulsion containing silver halide particle group containing at least 50mol.% chloride per silver, (1) at least 50% of a particle group projected area is divided with the [100] main face having an adjacent edge ratio of less than 10, (2) the platelike particles have an aspect ratio of at least 2 respectively and (3) each platelike particle is occupied with the platelike particle constituted by incorporating a core and a surrounding band containing a high level iodide ion.
