Abstract:
To provide a platoon traveling system capable of properly coping with interruption of a general vehicle into a platoon.SOLUTION: The platoon traveling system includes a vehicle control system mounted in each of a plurality of vehicles CS1, CS2, and CS3 forming a platoon. The vehicle control system controls an own vehicle through wireless communication with a preceding vehicle so that the own vehicle will follow the preceding vehicle. The vehicle control system includes: a sensor that detects an interruption of a general vehicle CO, which is not included in the platoon of vehicles, into the platoon of vehicles; and a notification device 34 provided in the rear part of each of the vehicles CS1 to CS3. As the notification device 34, for example, a display is adopted. When an interruption of the general vehicle CO into the platoon of vehicles is detected via the sensor, the notification device 34 of the vehicle CS1 located ahead of the general vehicle CO displays a message prompting the general vehicle CO to cooperate in platoon traveling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
