Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plugged honeycomb structure capable of controlling temperature elevation in use at high temperature and being excellent in thermal shock resistance.SOLUTION: A plugged honeycomb structure 100 comprises a columnar honeycomb structure part 4 having a porous partition wall 1 partition-forming a plurality of cells 2 extending from a first end face 11 to a second end face 12 being the flow channel of a fluid, and plugged parts 5 which are disposed on the openings of prescribed cells 2b in the first end face 11 and those of remaining cells 2a in the second end face 12. The porous partition wall 1 includes α-AlOas a main phase, and additionally cordierite and YSiO.
