Abstract:
PURPOSE: To lower rolling resistance, and reduce fuel consumption for a vehicle by making the tire light in weight without impairing the transverse stiffness of the tire.
CONSTITUTION: In the pneumatic tire provided with a carcass section 6 having a turned-up section 6B which passes through a side wall section 3 from a tread section 2, and is turned up around the bead core 5 of a bead section 4, a belt layer 7 which is disposed in not only the inner side of the tread section but also the outer side in the radial direction of the carcass 6, and with a bead apex 9 in a triangle shape in cross section which is extended outward in the tire radial direction from the bead core 5 in a space between the main body section of the carcass 6 and the turned-up section 6B, the bead apex 9 is formed out of hard foamed uretane material.
